Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As the successful Inventory Clerk, your core objective will be to maintain perfect stock integrity. You'll be the point of contact for all inventory-related queries, working closely with warehouse operatives, transport managers, and the wider logistics team.

• Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts using handheld RFID scanners and warehouse management system (WMS) terminals to ensure 99.9% inventory accuracy.
• Investigating and reconciling stock discrepancies between physical stock and system records, identifying root causes such as mis-picks, damage, or system errors.
• Processing inbound and outbound stock movements within the WMS, ensuring all receipts, transfers, and dispatches are logged accurately and in real-time.
• Maintaining clear and organised inventory records, audit trails, and reports for management, highlighting any potential issues with slow-moving or obsolete stock.
• Liaising with the purchasing and customer service teams to provide accurate stock availability information and support with inventory forecasting.
• Assisting with periodic full warehouse stocktakes, often outside of standard hours, ensuring they are completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to operations.
• Adhering to all health and safety protocols within the warehouse environment, including safe manual handling and pedestrian awareness around MHE like forklifts.
• Supporting quality control processes by checking incoming goods for damage and ensuring stock is stored in the correct locations according to safety and product type.
