Team Labourer Agency is recruiting a skilled Commercial Floor Layer with proven expertise in LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) and sheet vinyl installation for a major retail fit-out project in Stoke-on-Trent ST5. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring someone who can hit the ground running from day one.
The project involves the full installation of commercial-grade vinyl flooring across multiple retail units within a busy development site. You will be responsible for subfloor preparation, self-levelling compound application, adhesive laying, LVT plank and tile fitting, and finishing to a professional commercial standard. The site operates under a strict programme — precision and pace are both essential.
This opportunity suits an independent, experienced tradesperson accustomed to working in live commercial environments. Knowledge of Karndean, Amtico, Polyflor, or equivalent branded systems will be a significant advantage. All workers must hold a valid CSCS card and comply fully with on-site Health and Safety Executive standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
What You Will Be Doing on Site
Prepare substrates — grinding, sweeping, and priming concrete subfloors to manufacturer specification
Apply self-levelling compound to achieve perfectly flat, defect-free surfaces across large retail floor areas
Lay LVT planks, tiles, and sheet vinyl using pressure-sensitive and fully-bonded adhesive methods
Measure, cut, and fit flooring around fixtures, columns, service penetrations, and threshold strips
Install skirting trims, aluminium edgings, and stair nosings to a clean commercial finish
Liaise with the fit-out site manager to meet daily programme targets and handover deadlines
Maintain a clean, safe working area and comply with all PPE and site induction requirements
Complete daily timesheets accurately and report any substrate defects before proceeding with installation

Essential & Desirable Requirements
