Main Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, molding, and doors.
- Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Comply with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate with clients, team members, and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Mentor and assist in training apprentices and less experienced carpenters.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to do precise measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- A valid CSCS card.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
Experience
