Position Overview

We are seeking skilled and qualified Bricklayers/Masons to join our team in Harlow. The successful candidates will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures, working with a range of materials. Excellent craftsmanship is essential, along with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Main Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, blocks, and stones to construct or repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Measure work areas and set out the first rows (courses) of bricks or blocks.
• Mix mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer.
• Ensure work is completed to the highest standard, maintaining professional craftsmanship at all times.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals such as Site Managers, Supervisors, and other tradespeople.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are kept clean and stored correctly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bricklayer/Mason.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in bricklaying/masonry.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical fitness to perform required tasks.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is often required.

Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience working as a Bricklayer/Mason is preferred.
• Apprenticeship or vocational training in bricklaying or masonry is advantageous.
• Experience with a variety of masonry techniques and materials.
